June is "Flying By!"

Wow! June sure is flying by! I mean that both literally and figuratively! Last weekend, it was a battle against gale force winds and the winds won! Erecting our tent was a lost cause even with 120 pounds of weights attached and staking it to the ground. After other vendors had theirs break or be blown away, we gave up just as a 60 mph gust tried to snap it in pieces! Fortunately, we held on to it for dear life and managed to save it!

After taking it down, we were forced to do a minimal display. Not the gorgeous one that I always spend a lot of time on! The weights were used to anchor my garment rack and my merchandise was bungee corded together. Even then, it became virtually impossible to keep my clothing from flying off the rack. Normally that would be a retailers dream, but on this day, it was a nightmare! Desperately trying to "hang on," we conceded defeat and left early!

Looking on the bright side of things, this weekend will be gorgeous! Sunny and in the 80s! It will be a perfect day to Discover Kenmore, an annual event on Saturday, June 17th from 9-3pm on Delaware Ave in the Village of Kenmore. Many restaurants will be represented, so come hungry and sample some of the delicious food that they will be selling in this festive atmosphere that features live music, dancers, and balloon lined streets. Of course, Janie's Closet will be there!
